It seems like discussions of race, gender, sexual orientation, and the like all end up getting filed under the heading of “political”. Originally, I was going to log onto my blog and gripe about this for a bit. Then I considered that “political” is really defined as matters pertaining to the city/community. Then I thought about Augustine and his book, The City of God, where he lines up the city of man against the city of God.

Suddenly, “political” seems like exactly the right word to use.

(Also, once again, I am reinforced in my positioning “Politics” as a subcategory of “Theology and Spirituality”.)
